Push notification token — to send real-time threat alerts to your device.
Device identifiers (device model, OS version) — for app compatibility and crash diagnostics.
Crash and diagnostic reports — to identify and fix technical issues.
In-app usage analytics — to improve app features and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

To add you to our early-access waitlist and send product updates and launch notifications.
To deliver real-time environmental threat alerts based on your location.
To send push notifications for active threats in your monitored locations.
To respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
To analyze usage trends and improve the Site and our services.
To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns via Meta Pixel.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Location Data

The VaneShield app uses your device's precise GPS location to provide hyperlocal environmental threat monitoring. Location data is used solely to retrieve relevant threat data for your area and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

Foreground location is accessed when the app is open and active.
Background location is only accessed if you opt in to background threat alerts.
You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.
Revoking location access will disable real-time threat alerts but will not affect your account.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Site, including:

Google Analytics — for traffic analysis. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Hotjar — for session recording and heatmaps. You can opt out at hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out.
Meta Pixel (Facebook) — tracks conversions and waitlist signups for advertising purposes. Opt out via Facebook's ad settings.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address and ZIP code for as long as you remain on our waitlist or as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. App usage data and location history are not stored beyond what is necessary to deliver real-time alerts. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8).

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
